Injection Process: Sand permeation grouting involves injecting a liquid grout mixture (usually composed of cement, water, and additives) into the ground under pressure. The grout is injected through a series of drilled holes or injection points strategically placed in the soil in a gridded/sequenced pattern, creating a mass of bound soil.
Objective: The primary goal of sand permeation grouting is to fill the voids and interstitial spaces between sand particles in loose or poorly compacted soil. By doing so, it densifies and strengthens the soil, increasing its load-bearing capacity and reducing its permeability. This ensures that any structure above, be it a highly used railway, road or a structure to be built on top has adequate bearing and will not subside in future. It also reverses and further prevents erosion.
